A new documentary series, Inside Holloway, on Channel 5 will look at the history of Europe’s largest women’s prison. Holloway is synonymous with the names of Britain’s more notorious female criminals and will give viewers a unique insight into the prison and its infamous inmates, including brutal serial killer Myra Hindley, the last woman to be hanged in Britain, Ruth Ellis, and society madam, Cynthia Payne. The series contains exclusive interviews with experts (including Martina Cole), ex-inmates and members of staff, and draws on newly discovered primary sources as it examines Holloway’s past brutal regimes, its hidden scandals, and the conditions in the prison today. Inside Holloway will be starting on Channel 5 tonight at 10pm and concludes next Thursday, 30th October, also at 10pm.
