A new publication called Disability and Equity at Work is the first volume to systematically address the critical question of how to improve the employment situation of persons with disabilities around the world. There is very little question that there is still a great deal of work to be done to achieve equality in the workplace for persons with disabilities worldwide. Despite the increasing number of national and international guarantees of equal rights, the employment rate of persons with disabilities in both high- and low- -income countries around the world is far lower than that of persons without a disability. Disability and Equity at Work goes beyond examining the current problems and provides innovative and effective solutions to the challenges faced by persons with disabilities in the job market. Chapter authors include leading experts from government, international organizations, academia, and civil society and draw on a wealth of experiences in North America, Europe, Latin America, Asia, and Africa.
