A new report has been published focusing on the gastrointestinal - TopicsExpress

A new report has been published focusing on the gastrointestinal (GI) symptoms of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The report highlights that autistic children are four times more likely to experience general GI complaints than their peers, often due to the nature of autism it is hard for the children to communicate that they are suffering. The authors recommend that increased awareness of what to look out for among children with suspected GI disorders is needed. If this is something that you would like more information on please refer to our website which has an action plan for managing autism, including digestive issues foodforthebrain.org/nutrition-solutions/autism/action-plan-for-managing-autism.aspx To read more on the study please click here pediatrics.aappublications.org/content/133/5/872
