A note about todays Scottish Independence Referendum: Some of you may have noticed my changed cover photo, and, I also posted some other pictures showing my sympathy for a YES vote. This might come out of the blue for some of you. My dads side of my family has deep Scottish roots; his grandfather, Jimmy (my great grandfather), moved the family to Derby, from Perth, Scotland, in 1891 after he was offered a professional contract at Derby County Football Club; he was employed there for over thirty years, 15 years as a player, and another 16 years as their manager. Hes a legend, and my hero. I posted about him 11 months or so ago. His family settled in Derby, UK. Most of my bloodline was born there, and as far as is known to me, I am the only one born outside of the UK. On to the reason of this post! Today, Scots have the golden opportunity, to finally give William Wallace, Robert the Bruce (I was named after him) and all the brave men and women who fought the English invaders in The Wars For Scottish Independence, their due. To become a sovereign nation state. To rule their country themselves! We have been maligned and sidelined by London for way too long. The UK is a failing democracy, totally London-centric, totally in the pockets of the bankers and totally unrepresentative of the wishes of the vast majority of Scots. Enough! I cant vote being I dont live in Scotland. I do hope for a resounding YES! Soar Alba! Thank you :)
