A note from Animal Cruelty Task Force of Ohio: A friendly - TopicsExpress

A note from Animal Cruelty Task Force of Ohio: A friendly reminder to renew your dog licenses by next Friday! License fees vary by County, as do the locations where they are sold. If you are unsure, please call your local Dog Warden, Humane Society or County Auditors office. Why is it important to license your dog? Well for starters its the best way to prove ownership if your dog is lost or stolen. Sadly, there are dog thieves out there. It will also encourage someone who may find your dog and want to keep it at their house to report the dog as missing so you are able to claim him/her. Finally, your Dog Warden and Animal Shelter/Humane Society can quickly identify you as the owner if your dog gets loose. On that note...if your dog is microchipped and youve moved or changed numbers since your dog has been microchipped....PLEASE call the microchip provider and update them with your current info. Nothing is more discouraging for shelter staff than to scan a lost pet, find a microchip and excitedly call the owner only to hear the number you are calling has been changed, disconnected or is no longer in service... Rants from a former Shelter Director
