A note from Jason Chubb: Leslie was diagnosed in 2001 with a grade 2 oligodendroglioma brain tumor. She had a craniotomy in August 2001, followed by radiation in December of 2001, and had 7 years of remission. The tumor recurred in 2008, and she had another craniotomy in November of 2008, and following more regrowth in the spring of 2011, had more radiation. The tumor was still progressing, so she went on chemo for the first time in 2012, and took chemo for an entire year. The tumor still wasnt adequately being controlled, so more chemo followed in 2013. On June 15th, 2013, she married the love of her life, Jason Chubb. They went on a honeymoon to Mexico, and shortly after returning, her health began to deteriorate. She had 4 big seizures, and was admitted to Lehigh Valley Hospital and put on steroids for brain swelling, and about a month and a half after that the side effects began to take their toll. She began Avastin infusions to control the tumor, but suffered a pulmonary embolism in November of 2013, which really took a toll on her mobility and her functioning level. While at home recovering from that, she suffered a bowel perforation on February 2nd of 2014, and was rushed by ambulance to Lehigh Valley Hospital for emergency surgery which she never recovered from. She suffered from numerous infections and lack of an ability to heal brought on by the steroids for the brain swelling. She made some progress, but rapidly declined in the last few weeks before she died on March 27th, 2014. She was the love of my life, and she gave my life meaning and purpose. She was kind, nurturing, loving, gentle, and made my life better than I ever could have imagined it would be for the 13 years we were together. We were both lonely and lost when we found each other. We were two lost souls who took a chance on love and found something that others rarely find. She was the best thing that ever happened to me. Jason Chubb
