A note from John Paskell, the SLE airport manager: As it - TopicsExpress

A note from John Paskell, the SLE airport manager: As it stands right now, runway 13/31 will re-open this Friday, August 8th at 5:00 p.m. and all navigational aids will be back in service. Both runways will be available for use over the weekend, and then runway 16/34 will be closed from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. on Monday, August 10th for electrical crews to work in the safety areas. On Tuesday and Wednesday (August 12th and 13th) the intersection of taxiways Alpha, Charlie and Hotel will be closed from 8:00 a.m.-5:00 p.m. for the same purpose. Taxi routes to all four runway thresholds will still be available. After Wednesday I expect that all work on the airfield will be complete and all movement areas open and operational going forward. The rest of the project work will be in the electrical vault off the airfield. Thank you all very much for your patience, understanding, cooperation and support while we undertook this very complex airfield upgrade. I think you will find the outcome to be a safer, more functional and more attractive airfield than weve had in many, many years at Salem. As always, please let me know if you have any questions or need any additional information. And of course, please check your NOTAMs before you fly.
