Therefore, the adoption process to get one of these dogs, by design, has many rules to assure that these dogs go to their forever home, for the rest of their life. Do you feel called to rescue your next Dachshund? You should know that the references you provide WILL be called. Your current pets MUST be spayed, neutered, current with vaccines, and on heartworm preventative. Someone WILL visit YOUR HOUSE (in Western Kentucky, maybe a happy smiling ME!) to see that your yard and home are Dachshund safe. There are cheaper ways to get a dog. If you feel our adoption application process invades your privacy- rescue is not for you. However, these dogs are completely vetted, their personality is known, they are coming from a foster home where they have been loved- and we are committed to them FOR THEIR LIFE.
