A parent asks our group: Hi there! Im looking to get in touch with parents of children who toe walk. My son who has SPD has been toe walking ever since the age of 10 months has been seeing a physio and podiatrist since the beginning of this year (hes 7&1/2 and we were told it was just a phase) and theyve been monitoring his tightness etc. lately my sons toe walking has been more pronounced and at our appointment today it was decided he needed closer monitoring,so were heading back weekly. They physio spoke about the possibility of surgery (worst case scenario) should he progressively get worse but we will be working on lots of exercises etc to try to avoid that. Id love to hear from any other parents who have dealt with toe walking, whether it be mild or more severe requiring casts/surgery about their experiences. Itd be great to have a better understanding of obstacles we may face. Thanks.
