A parent asks our group: My son has just started OT and we were told by her that he does have SPD. Im seeing on here how many people say the diagnosis of SPD is not recognized by the medical community as a diagnosis, or by insurances, and that people are seeking out a developmental pediatrician for any further diagnosis. My son is just over 2 and ism sure he will need an IEP when starting school and he does receive services thru our states Early Intervention. So, my question is, should I get him in to see a developmental pediatrician for any further diagnosis and for medical record concerns for the future?
