A parent asks our group: This has probably been asked before, but I could really use any advice. My 3 year old SPD kiddo does not like baths or pools. We had this problem before and he was doing good getting the bath (not getting washed) for about 2 months but the issues started up again. We were using bubbles, color fizzers, and bath toys, which seemed to be working but for the past few weeks Ive been having a hard time getting him to take a bath. Will follow his usual routine, brush teeth, throw toys in bath, pour bubbles, and color fizzer, but once its time to undress and get in the bath he cries as I start to undress and starts yelling as I put him in the bath. The water temp. is at the temp. he likes ( Luke warm, almost cold) and his routine is always the same, same order, nothing has changed. I dont know why the sudden regress. I feel horrible giving him a bath as hes yelling for me to stop. Ive tried not washing his hair or body with soap and just doing a water bath but even that is intolerable and seems to hurt him. help!
