A part of route 66 I had not driven before. Read the description and see the video someone posted. It was 22 miles of hairpin curves, sheer drop on one side and sheer rocks walls of mountains on the other with one lane each way, no shoulder, and pull offs few and far apart. Before we had modern pumps, people had to back their cars over Sitgreaves Pass to get gasoline in to the engine. It was such great fun in the Miata, after spending a few hours in oatman, another old mining town with more expensive wares than our local bisbee and tombstone, I turned around and drove it back to kingman rather than going onward.
