A person may have a facebook profile or page full of knowledge but not know or act upon that knowledge and a person may have a profile with little or no knowledge but they know and act upon that knowledge and much more which is not shown on their profiles. Facebook profiles are not a correct representation of us as people or us as Muslims. Don’t have high expectations for facebookers, especially the Muslim ones, because chances are you will be disappointed. They only choose what they want you to see. Never become attached to any certain facebooker, be they of the same gender or opposite. As much as you don’t want to believe it, you are dealing with the unknown. Humans will always be human; we sin, we err, we forget, we disappoint, yet as Muslims, we reflect, we repent, we renew, we reform, we rectify. We become better. That being said, there is still much you can ascertain and gauge from a person’s profile. Their character and manners, whether they are introverted or extroverted, are they someone who is open or private? What do they post about? Are there certain themes to their posts? Does that have some meaning to their life or is it just random? Remember to forgive your fellow Muslim brothers and sisters, be patient with them and advise them, with wisdom, knowledge, sincerity and patience. Strive to be better than what people think of you, one way this can be done is by hiding your good deeds. Seek only His face.
