A piece of history here: This 2002 Autechre video, though it looks responsive to the music, pre-dates the technology that people use nowadays to get that effect and in some ways fueled the need for it. Over the course of a month Alex Rutterford painstakingly cut every element of the video to the beat and specific frequencies, deriving inspiration from a particularly intense LSD trip. This took the generative/VJ world by storm when it was unleashed.
