A poem I wrote for my son when he was in his final year at school. Over the weekend it inspired me: failure is a myth Have you ever failed? I mean, a successful failure, A failure without having baggage, One that has brought forth a sustainable emergence? If you have had a failure, Realise the lessons that you have learnt; The new information, expertise and experiences that you have acquired Think about those chaotic confrontations that were converted into enigmatic energy. Ponder on your altered attitudes and vociferous values that have been reshaped and enhanced. Recognise what you have possibly risked. Have you ever thought about this failure? I mean, imagine the actual journey that you have travelled, The brave accomplishments that you have mastered. Reflect on the mishap and near devastation that may have occurred. Remember that you are still alive! You have triumphant tenacity that is surging in your soul And calling out for an altered state of being. You are a unique individual with dignity and integrity! You have experienced a blessing in disguise! You are a survivor! Failure is a myth!
