A poem in the style (ha-ha) of James Joyce-- Miss Rooney Gives Up the Ghost Bridgid prayed for dandy warts and Our Saint was answered with spoon face and black eye. You, my wild Irish rumpus, practiced blarney-wink while praying for the day of the truth. Bridgids pious father dreamed that men in white garments swore a sublime oath over her. Your sold father dreamed, too, about flake-white jumpsuits driving your lying mind to a floor of paper habits. Better, Miss Rooney, to have your eye swollen shut and sour soul barrelling down your own green river of peace.
