A poor showing for Rajki, being knocked out of the cup in the first round 1 - 9. No doubt the opponent where a class above. After scoring the first goal (see video) it was a one way affair. Injuries also set us back, with Harry Mai suffering a hard hit to the back and Jock Coutts obtaining an eye injury in the post match. The votes: H. Mai, 3 votes C. Giles, 2 votes J. Dean, 1 vote. The best and fairest count (apologies for previous leaderboard, was in correct due to technical difficulties. C. Giles, 7 votes C. Dummett, 5 votes H. Mai, 3 votes J. Coutts, 3 votes. S. Wiltshire, 1 vote J. Dean, 1 vote. Injuries: H. Mai (back) J. Coutts (eye) Goal scorers: H. Mai, 1. Now for the weekly three things we learnt with Scruddy. 1. Rajki leaky? Might be making a large statement about Rajki here but since there round 1 demolition of Top Blokes. Rajki has conceded 16 goals in 2 games. Even though it is only 2 games Ive learnt that Rajkis downfall is its defence. It doesnt come down too one or two individuals, its a team effort. Once Rajki stop the flow of goals R we will be a very hard team to stop this season. 2. Sacon United were awesome. Sacon United were a league above FC Rajki last night. After they had a slow first 10 minutes of the game they went bang and put the foot down on the throat of FC Rajki. Rajki held there own in the first half but were no match for a slick, physical team which held position and passed through us like we were witches hats. Rajki should not feel disgraced by the heavy defeat they are a top club who are favourites to win the title in the best league at East Rec. The experience can only do FC Rajki the world of good. 3. Harry Lionheart Mai The 3 votes, the only goal scorer and he only played 50% game time. This young man threw his body into every contest and he came off second best after a physical clash with an opponent which seen Harry hit the floor hard and awkwardly. Rajki were 1-0 when he went down, it was fair to say Rajki werent the same when he left the pitch with the injury. You know this bloke is going to give his all at every contest and he lead by example and it sets the bar for Rajkis intent for every game for the rest of the season. We hope for a better showing next week, as we focus on the league.
