A post shared by Comrade James Dorbor Sao Supreme Court indefinitely pause 2014 Senatorial Election. The Supreme Court of Liberia has indefinitely rescheduled hearings into a request for the cancellation of the 2014 Senatorial election. The high court on Tuesday failed to indicate a set date to probe a complainant from a group of concern Liberians contesting the conduct of the polls amid the Ebola outbreak in the country. The court had earlier set Tuesday December 2 as the date to hear the official response of the National Election Commission about the complaint. No reason was provided by the court for its latest decision to reschedule the hearings without an attach date. Already the NEC has set December 16 as the date for the election while campaign activities have since been suspended due to the court action. It remains unclear when will the Supreme Court recommence the proceedings. There have been intense arguments that Liberia risks running into a constitutional crisis if the election is not held.
