A problem of privacy I put to the hive mind. A rather big fish in - TopicsExpress

A problem of privacy I put to the hive mind. A rather big fish in the renaissance faire world has posted the difficulty of walking their dog without interruption. They are on a limited time schedule, especially on faire days, and they like to get the walk in without 10 people stopping her to chat. The only time I have seen them on site is either gathering a crowd for the show, or performing. This begs the question--why do the big acts disappear between sets? Everyone knows I started as street cast, and I believe I will always love that patron interaction. Can it be that most of the more successful renacts are truly introverts? I have also met many road rennies who think of the faire only as a job. They dont think about the community, the magic or the interaction. To them, its just another sales job, where they wear a costume. Do you think it adds to the mystique of the act when they dont interact? Am I hurting Friar Finnegan by being so friendly? Understand, this other performer is super friendly, and a very nice person onstage and off. I know they need time to mentally prep and take care of her dog. So this isnt about her. Its about me! The price of fame is the loss of anonymity!
