A proposal has been discussed to allow Farmers Markets in Upper Darby Township . I have mixed views on this concept particularly when Business owners invest in the Community and pay Real Estate taxes. I see a need in areas that are lacking such businesses however Ordinances like this are complex with many issues of Health, Police and Licensing to mention a few. The Committee s assigned this by Council will investigate and recommend to Council a comprehensive Ordinance to regulate this activity. I look forward to working with the Community is exploring this new activity and remain optimistic . There will be a special meeting of the Upper Darby Township Council Committees on Thursday, August 14th @ 7pm, in Room 202 of the Municipal Building (100 Garrett Road), to discuss the proposed Farmers Market Ordinance.
