A pyramid, large as a rock mountain, stands before me as if I am - TopicsExpress

A pyramid, large as a rock mountain, stands before me as if I am in a dream, taking me back to a past life in which I am one of an ancient people, and I look upward at its summit at the perfectly tailored stone monument and see the portal into immortality. Instantly, my heart lunges skyward as if I am ready to be sacrificed. Green, no, lavish verdure walls of giant leaves drape the surrounding air with terraces of colors percussive and rich as birds of every vibrant hue perch upon the trees like exotic sentinels as if they, themselves, are presiding over a sacred ritual, their curved, bulky beaks pointing toward me as if they are suddenly beckoning. And the sky has become an ocean, not blue and two dimensional like so many picturesque firmaments I have seen. No. This sky is thick without clouds. The azure is violent like high tide at the outset of a storm, its surf twisting in convulsive cascades, one surging wall of coiled water diving into its undertow even more viciously than the last explosive wave. Again, and again, it repeats, yet its potent outbursts produces the most silent sound with a quietness that sinks quickly and clean, knife-like through my every cell into the oasis of my soul where it lands in a still, pure pond, a place I often come to sit in communion with the universe. The vibration it creates is almost volcanic. I listen, trembling with a frequency both new, and archaic, to my senses. More deeply, I listen intently. And, I wait. The universe is coursing through me like a river through its final channel before entering the sea. A silent song begins, and now I must compose the lyric with a new language…my first word, a sound like a mantra, takes flight and abruptly I am atop the pyramid. Here, is a vortex where we all meet—the restive sky, the awaiting jungle, and me. This is the center of the universe. The sun stares into my eyes, and on this carved rock the rest of my lyric rises to this pointed mount, awaiting only my words…
