A question from our inbox: Ive read online that you should wait 18-24 months to get pregnant again after any birth (vaginal or cesarean) of a child before you attempt to get pregnant again. Is that just a guideline? I know many women get pregnant sooner than that. I am a mother of 5. I have had a vaginal, a cesarean due to preeclampsia and breech twins at 36 weeks, a vbac at 40w+5 and then another cesarean due to my son passing away at 36w due to trisomy 18. I opted for the cesarean because I was still closed high and tight and couldnt bear the thought of my child passed away inside of me. I really feel the need to be pregnant again. I need my rainbow baby and want him or her as soon as possible. My regular OB said I could get pregnant again after 3 months post partum but he also told me that I would not be allowed a vba2c. I know each mom has her own success story of a vba2c after only so many months, but is there any research validating the data? Should I wait only 3 months if I am trying for a vba2c or should I wait longer? Why does the Internet (multiple resources) say to wait 18-23 months of my doctor will say only 3? #ICANSupport
