A quick note for my readers: You might have read that Amazon is in a standoff with publisher Hachette. In an effort to squeeze better terms with Hachette (imprints Grand Central, Little, Brown and Co., Orbit, Hyperion, CenterStreet and Faith Words), Amazon has raised prices on Hachette books, delayed ship time out to 2-5 weeks, and taken away the ability to pre-order pending releases. Unfortunately, these things happen: Iscariot release weathered a (less draconian) standoff with a chain over a year ago. Regardless, such tactics are frustrating for readers and hard on authors. What this means for you: if you are in the market for a Hachette book (including the Books of Mortals trilogy), consider buying them from your local brick and mortar store, other online distributors, or, when possible, from the authors themselves on their websites or sites such as signedbytheauthor (Ill offer a coupon in days to come). My other books are published by Simon & Schuster (Demon and Havah will soon be also) and unaffected by the current snit. Nonetheless, this is a frustrating time for authors and readers both. Thank you for your loyalty to authors like me, and for hanging in there with us.
