A quick thank-you to David Sylvestre who reminded me of something - TopicsExpress

A quick thank-you to David Sylvestre who reminded me of something this evening. When you hear people defending the monetary system, capitalism, or any such money-based slavery/competition model, sometimes youll hear them say things like, Well, its survival of the fittest, isnt it? or We have to have money - we have to trade. Its not their fault. Theyve spent an entire lifetime learning, growing up, living, and fighting for survival having been told that the best result for them personally comes from doing whats best for them. I actually studied economics at school when I was 17/18. And one thing they never told me was that Adam Smith and his Invisible Hand was actually incorrect. I didnt find that out until 2001, more than a decade later. The best result for all of us, each and every single person with their own desires and wants, comes from doing whats best for oneself AND best for the group. That group can be your family, your neighbourhood, or this planet. Given that I studied economics from 1988-9, and that Adam Smith was proven incorrect in the 1940s, by the time I went to school there should have been no such subject as economics. Or finance, marketing, sales, law, or other such useless trivialities. Every day that passes while these subjects continue to exist is not only a travesty, but also a humiliation to our entire species. Makes you think, doesnt it. Nite Earth. youtu.be/CemLiSI5ox8
