A quick update for yall. We changed about 20 poopy diapers today. They sent a stool sample and he came back positive for C DIff. It is easy to treat and helps to explain part of the puzzle. It will still be a few days before we hear the rest of the test results but at least we have something to treat now. He is currently getting his 4th bag of platelets of the day. The last platelet level they checked was 40,000 and his threshold is 50,000 so he is getting very close. We pray that he holds onto these and doesnt lose them overnight. I will forever be the annoying bug in peoples ears about donating blood and platelets. So far this year, Sawyer has received 10 blood products from donors. Complete strangers who gave up part of their day to donate for someone unknown. The recipient happened to be my baby boy. I will never be able to thank them for their small sacrifice. They will never know the impact they had on our life. So in return I will beg others to donate. Others to donate to someone elses baby, mom, grandpa, whoever. You are helping a life for a moment of your time. I say a prayer thanking God every time Sawyer gets a transfusion because someone somewhere decided to donate.
