A reader asks I have a son who at the moment Im trying to get a diagnosis for, just so I can understand him more and get him the help he needs.but because hes a well behaved child im being told that everything is fine,or he has anxiety. But I have mummy instinct that he has a form of autism. He has sensory issues (smells his hands, and everything in sight) he also licks his fingers, bites his clothes etc. He loves looking at himself in the mirror or door handles.he takes everything you say literally.hes a very fussy eater.gets frustrated easily, covers his ears if he doesnt like the noises around him (it frustrates him) he also makes funny noises with his mouth...he cannot sit still and forgets easily, and doesnt understand no means no. I do get upset with him sometimes, because Im also frustrated that I cant do anything to help, because I dont know whats going on...can somebody please advise me? or tell me if Im just over thinking things? Ive tried really hard to just accept that thats how children behave, but I have 2 other children and my son seems to be in his own little bubble...I just want the best for him...thank you.
