A recent article in the The New York Times discusses growing investments in social entrepreneurs and opportunities in higher education, particularly in MBA programs, that help people enter the field of social entrepreneurship. The article features an Echoing Green Fellow, Jason Aramburu, founder of Edyn, a company that sells specialized soil sensors that help gardeners and farmers worldwide monitor soil health, air humidity, weather patterns and water needs. Edyns products are made and priced to benefit those in developed and developing countries alike. Jasons motivation comes from finding ways to “use technology and the Internet to help farmers and other people grow more food.”
