A recent conversation I had with a random girl at school. She was wearing a rather pretty, ankle-lenth floral skirt and noticed me wearing a black skirt that immediately drew her to me. HER: Are you wearing a skirt? ME: Yes. HER: Yesterday you were wearing a kilt. ME: Yes. HER: I dont mean to offend, but are you Scottish? ME: No. I just like them. And Im not afraid to wear them. HER: Are you Irish? ME: No. HER: Are you a Christian? ME: No. HER: You dont have Christ in your heart? ME: You know, I meant to, but I just got really busy. HER: No offense, but are you a satanist? *Awkward pause* ME: Um, no. HER: Can I show you something? ME: Sure. *She retrieves her Bible.* HER: I know a lot men wore skirts back in the Bible, but they dont really do that anymore. *I politely nod* *She goes on about the importance of Christ in your heart and what the punishment for not accepting him is: damnation.* ME: Thanks. But Im already fluent in the Bible. I went to a private Christian high school. HER: Well, you dont seem like it. ME: That religion just isnt for me. Well, nice to meet you. What was your name? HER: Crystal. ME: Josh. *I shake her hand, she reluctantly and quite weakly shakes the hand of an alleged satanist* HER: Sorry. Im just kind of a germaphobe. ME: Good to know. Trust me. If you thought this was tiring to read, it was just as exhausting to participate in.
