A recent study at Bristol University has found Muslims are 76% less likely to be accepted for a job than their Christians counterparts, “placing Muslims collectively at the lowest stratum within the countrys racial or ethno-cultural system…”. This has racial and social repercussions in terms of integration and equality. What is especially worrying is that the statistic stands despite there being no difference in age or qualifications when assessing candidates. This yet another strand in modern day Islamophobia, exposing how prevalent it has become and sadly a step backwards for race relations.
