A regime that fails to merge flexibility with firmness in its decisions and actions can never enjoy popular support,hence the end of Buhari--Idiagbons regime did not come as a surpise. The inhuman decrees no.2 and no.4 and the utried detainees who were languishing in cells constituted a case in point for the coupists that ousted him from power. The rise in UNEMPLOYMENT and GENERAL IN PRICE of goods he blamed the politicians for,remained URESOLVED by his own administration. The issue of counter-trade embarked upon was a matter that called for a serious concern as it further worson the economy. The regime HAS NO RECORD OF A NEW PROJECT EXECUTED; and NO OLD ONE WAS COMPLETED. Gen. M Buhari embarked on negotiation with IMF for loans,but no conclusive result was achieved. The regime was BRUTISH,INHUMAN and IRRESPONSIBLE IN EVERY CALCULATION. As Maj. Gen. Tunde Idiagbon travelled to Saudi Arabia to perform hajj, I.B.B. And his men decided to dopose the regime and I.B.B was announced as the President and commander-in -Chief of The Armed Forces by Brig. Joshua Nemiel Dogoyaro. In the speech,he said, I,Brigadier Joshua Nemiel Dogoyaro of the Nigerian Army hereby make the following declarations on behalf of my colleaques,members of the Nigerian Armed Forces. Fellow countrymen,intervention of the Military at the end of 1983 was welcomed by the nation with unprecedented vehement. Nigerians were yearing for the unprecedented intervention and looked forward hopefully for progressive changes for the better;only two years later it has became clear that the fulfillment of the intervention is not forthcoming. Because this generation of Nigerians and indeed the future generations have no other country but Nigeria,we should not stay back and watch a small group of individuals to misuse power to the detriment of our national aspirations and interest. He further accused Buharis regime of absence of cohesion in the hierarchy govt lack of unity of purpose;unending misdirection for identifying the inherited problems from the civilian govt of Shehu Shagariregime arrongated to themselves power,a select few members charged with the day to day implementation of the SMC policies and decision .....Any effort made to advice leadership were met with stubborn resistance and was viewed as a systematic ELIMINATION of wht was termed opposition. He also stated that inflation was on daily incrrease,the activities of the government deteriorate daily,mineral resources being wasted on unproductive ventures.
