A request from our local school, if you have 2 minutes please vote for them. Due to expansion of the neighbouring First School, the Pre-School has lost half of its outdoor recreational space. We are keen to replicate some of the features of the garden we have lost in a refurbished playground which will maximise the reduced space available and ensure provision for all areas of learning in a safe and stimulating outdoor environment. Our first priority is to install a new all-weather soft surface for the entire playground area to improve the children’s comfort and safety and eliminate uneven paving stones which currently present a tripping hazard. This would ideally be accompanied by a small grassed area and an area for growing plants and vegetables to help us promote an understanding of nature and healthy eating. Our second aim is to provide a selection of new play equipment to create a safe, fun place for the children to play and learn. We need a new climbing frame as the current one can only be partially used due to wear and tear, and we need to replace the broken sliding doors from the Pre-School building into the playground. Additional equipment such as a chalk and paint easel, a Perspex paint panel, a sand and water play trough and an easi shot basketball unit would really be enjoyed by the children. The Pre-School Management Committee has applied for a £25,000 grant from the Engage Foundation to pay for the above playground project - but only the two projects with the highest number of votes at the end of May will be successful, which is why we need you (and everyone you know who might be interested) to vote for our project. All you need to do is register on the Engage Foundation website at goo.gl/7C3jxp Then log in and vote for the Pre-School project at goo.gl/Ha7ez6 This will take 2 minutes of your time. And if you can spare a further 2 minutes, we would really appreciate you passing this letter on to all your friends, family and/or colleagues who may be interested in supporting us. Thank
