A response to my Teacher Trainees book report that I thought may - TopicsExpress

A response to my Teacher Trainees book report that I thought may be helpful to share, thank you Shelli Mullins for inspiring these words to move through me: These teachings are so dear to my heart too. They remind me of what I feel is the real practice of Yoga. No one in the West wants to hear it but Yoga is not tied up in a pretty little bow, it will not bow down or accommodate the mind an its inexhaustible wants, it could care less about your status, your hours of study, your warrior 1, your tattoos, your business model, your accomplishments, your style, your brand, your waist size, how many students like you, how many books you have read. Rather Yoga is so plainly practical that it is the most boring yet mind blowing and awe inspiring, simple truth available, and its all right here and right now, as is. I too, often feel like I could have so much more success in Yoga if this or that wasnt here tying me down but whose voice is that? It is the illusion talking, it is the greener grass, it is the long lost enlightment awaiting my ugly imperfection to get with the program, and it is forever unattainable and will run us into the ground and drain all the life and joy and risk and playfulness out of us in our desperate search for what is ultimately nothing. This Yoga, Krishnamacharyas Yoga, Patanjalis Yoga and the Yoga of the Sages was as pragmatic as the phrase Before enlightenment chop wood carry water, after enlightenment chop wood carry water, or after the ecstasy the laundry. This I can understand and this I can do in my joyful expression of imperfection. From this place I can breathe, I can en-joy, I can understand, I can accept and I can relate and it is only here that I have room for mistakes that may or may not turn into brilliant masterpieces that may matter or may never matter to any one else but me and my crazy little heArt.
