A rhetorical question for my friend Rick Chadwell: when does one hedge their bet? When they seek to minimize the risk of loss. In this dynamic, the question and real possibility of both `loss and the will to maintain what one still holds must be imperative (as otherwise one lets go and just rolls the dice with the gods). One hedges and thus utilizes an analytic of maintaining what `has been precisely to the extent that they have yet to find that which is the `everything for which they live. In matters of finance, I ALWAYS recommend hedging, be it through the options market, stop-loss targets, or cost average limits (as money can never be but a game, a symbolic representation of how the material is transient, printed up and burned away). However, in a relationship (assuming I could ever be lucky enough to find one so real), such mitigating plays, such open-order energies, would be irrelevant; and in fact they are blocked at the circles edge!
