A sad day back in 2006 as the last remaining Sea Harrier F/A 2 of 801 Naval Air Squadron shut down their Pegasus engines for the very last time at RNAS Yeovilton (HMS Heron). The Sea Harrier fleet had been home based at Yeovilton since 1979 when Sharkey Ward took command of 700A Itensive Flying Trials Unit and through its service life made a tremendous contribution to the security of the United Kingdom.
