A salesman wanted me to bind his presentations close to closing - TopicsExpress

A salesman wanted me to bind his presentations close to closing time the other night. It was already printed he just needed a binding job. He asked me to look through it and then he asked if it needed anything. I thumbed through it and the only thing I could think of was the quality of the paper that it was printed on. I told him it looked fine as it was. If I made copies, the paper was so thin on both sides of each sheet that each side would have bled into one another. When I told him it look fine, this obviously super plastic fake a-hole told me that I’m not much of a salesman. I guess I could have given him an inferior product for a lot more money, but I’m just not wired that way. I don’t mind though, I can’t think of a worse thing than accepting the label of salesman as my personal identity. Not to mention that he was upset with the price for the binding alone after I had finished my work. I could only imagine having to haggle with him over the price of all of that color copying he was “open” to. I think he was just trying to feel relevant and pull some alpha nonsense, but I’m not sure. This guy is looking for relevance in all the wrong places. I would almost feel sorry for him if he wasn’t such a DB.
