A seminarian Facebook friend from Uganda wrote this article about his beloved country, Uganda. Beyond the beauty of the flora and fauna, he sends the message of caring and concern for all creatures. Adolf apologizes in his email to me for his grammar mistakes. They dont matter compared to his message. UGANDA THE PEARL OF AFRICA Uganda acquired the above name in 1907 by one of the British Prime Minister called Winston Churchill. This was because of the beauty of the country with its vegetation landscape and sceneries. Today, Uganda is blessed with tourism attractions; it has beautiful birds living in the sky and on the ground. It also blessed with animals of all types some I have seen them, some I have not. Ugandans love, cherish and care for wild life. Sometime back, a beautiful lion bore three beautiful cubs. Both the cubs and the mother were hungry, the mother went to look for food and it is well known that lions do not eat grass. A saying goes: “if you see a dog in the potato garden eating sweet potato veins, know that there is something wrong”. So the lioness went and bumped into a buffalo and sustained a serious wound. So the lion marched back with its cubs to a den to have a rest and think what do to next. Sucessfuly it arrived and had a rest but in a great pain of the wound and hunger. The cubs were roaring, but then, fell a sleep. Because of love of the wild life Ugandans have, mercy, love, sympathy was shown to this lioness (the mother of three cubs). The doctors responsible for the wild life took much care of this loved lioness. Fortunately, it gained strength and it now leaving and the cubs have grown old into beautiful lions All that God created is good and He constantly take care of them. And we His special and rational creatures, we are argued to take care of the environment and all that live in it. PREPARED BY ADOLF TWINE 2ND May 2, 2014
