A severe weather warning has now been issued for the Esperance area for tomorrow. Hail, damaging wind gusts, heavy rainfall with possible flash flooding are possible. Flood watches have also been issued. Its going to be quite nasty this weekend. Severe Thunderstorm Warning for damaging and locally destructive winds, large hail and heavy rainfall for the Gascoyne, Goldfields, Eucla, South Coastal, South East Coastal, Great Southern and Central Wheat Belt forecast districts Issued at 6:38 pm WST on Friday 17 October 2014. For people in parts of WA south of a line from Bremer Bay to Corrigin to Northam to Beacon to Cue to Meekatharra to Wiluna to Laverton to Balladonia to Israelite Bay. This includes people in, near or between, Esperance, Southern Cross, Meekatharra and Kalgoorlie. During Saturday, a low pressure system will deepen over inland parts of the South West Land Division and a mid-level disturbance will approach from the west. People are advised that there is a risk of SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS and HEAVY RAINFALL developing after 8 am Saturday morning. SEVERE THUNDERSTORMS and HEAVY RAINFALL are expected to continue through Sunday and may extend further west into the South Coastal district. Within the warning area north of a line from Corrigin to Israelite Bay, thunderstorms may be accompanied by - DANGEROUS WINDS - LARGE HAIL - HEAVY RAINFALL which may lead to FLASH FLOODING. Storms could cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY. Within the warning area south of a line from Corrigin to Israelite Bay, - HEAVY RAINFALL may lead to FLASH FLOODING. Rainfall could cause SIGNIFICANT DAMAGE TO HOMES AND PROPERTY. Flood Watches have been issued for the southern Goldfields and Southeast Coastal districts.
