A short but very powerful excerpt from The Pursuit of Happiness It - TopicsExpress

A short but very powerful excerpt from The Pursuit of Happiness It shows a scene where Chris Gardner (Will Smith) is playing basketball with his son. He states, just as most of us do unwittingly, that his son should not expect to do better than he did; as that will be his lot in life. Then, he realizes that hes inhibiting his sons possibilities by saying that. We all do this and have had similar teaching ourselves, whether that was intentional or otherwise. We are constrained by our set of beliefs, those we have developed through experiential learning, familial, educational or religious teachings. Our innate power is breaking free of such constraint; a belief is just a thought that we keep thinking, practice thinking new thoughts and we will manifest new possibilities. If what we have been doing in the past has achieved our present results, how can we expect to achieve different results if we keep on doing the same things that we did in the past? We have the capacity to choose a different future for ourselves. Once we quiet our intellect (read ego), we can truly start to open ourselves to amazing possibilities. Focus upon the life you truly desire, without the resistance of a confused focus, then be, do or have anything that you truly desire.
