A short while back, we had a situation in which we took in several dogs from an owner whose home was being foreclosed on and could no longer keep them. Sadly, we see cases like this quite often. It can sometimes be a stressful transition for the animals to adjust to losing their home and enter a new facility such as ours but we always do the very best we can to put them at ease and make their stay with us as comfortable as possible. Two of the dogs, Splash and Wags were sisters and were very bonded to one another. We knew it would make finding them a home a little more difficult but we just had to keep them together. They relied upon each other for everything and never would have been happy apart. And then there was Cotton, a 14 year old dog that although had a heart of gold, we feared would likely stay with us longer because the senior dogs so often get overlooked. Well, we are happy to report that all of them have now gotten the second chances they deserve and have been adopted into loving new homes!! Cotton will live out her golden years with her new mom and Splash and Wags got their wish of staying together and will have a great time with their new family.
