A significant accomplishment for Anguilla, its biodiversity, and the international community: Dog Island has officially been declared rat-free. Huge thanks to the US Fish & Wildlife Foundation, the HM Governors Office Anguilla, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, BirdsCaribbean, and Syngenta for their support (during and post-eradication). To our partners, Fauna & Flora International, the Government of Anguilla, the Royal Society for the Protection of Birds, the Anguilla Development Company (owners of Dog Island). To Neville Carty and his team of track cutters and Biz Bell of Wildlife Management International Ltd. and the team of volunteers who removed the rats. And to our local/ANT volunteers and interns. This was (and continues to be) a project of partnership and an excellent example of what we can accomplish by working together in the name of conservation and biodiversity. Happy International Biodiversity Day!
