A significant percentage of those accusing Israel of war crimes and atrocities are the ones who commit these acts. The columnist Victor Davis Hanson talks about the “therapeutic view of geopolitics.” In this form of delusion, all conflict arises from misunderstandings. We all want the same things: peace, freedom, the right to determine our own destiny, religious tolerance, etc. If we can just find the right words, everyone will get along fine. “Your actions are hurting me, Mr. Islamic State. I know you’re not aware of that, so I’m reaching out to you now. To dialog.” What too many people refuse to accept is that those who commit atrocities and war crimes enjoy it. They get off on murder. It’s not a case of misunderstanding at all. They’re utterly negative, implacably destructive creatures who need to be exterminated.
