A slightly biased match report. AFC Rushden and Diamonds welcomed Gary Taylor and his team on this sunny winter Saturday hoping for entertaining game of football. The game started with young Diamonds having possession and controlling the game. St.Neots on the other hand decided to stay deep and focus on defending, which they did very well. 2nd quarter was again dominated by Rushden, but It was St. Neots who scored the opener. Lewis Beasley miss kicked the ball which was calmly pass to the empty net by Benjamin Southwood. This goal gave away team a little bit more confidence and the game was levelled . 3rd and 4th quarter was an absolute domination by Diamonds, but again it was the away team who scored the goal. Quick counter attack and good, precise finish by Omar Marsh gave St. Neots another goal. For the last 20 minutes of the game Diamonds were desperately trying to break through but failed to score the goal. Big credit to St. Neots players for good discipline in the back and good organisation in defence. Final score ARC R&D vs St. Neots 0:2.
