A small rant: I always try my hardest to support local businesses when I shop...especially ones that carry hand-mades, instead of Chinese mass-produced items. I simply wish that local businesses who carry the same type of item I produce would be kind enough to support my work as well. Shops that can advertise made by a local artist are not only doing what is right in helping the artists, tourists like to see that sort of thing when they shop, to know that they are actually buying a piece of art that was made in the area they are visiting. I have sold to hundreds of different shops across the U.S., but the sad thing is, I have only had my items carried in two local shops in over 9 years of selling. :( It is something that has bothered me for quite some time, so hopefully shop owners that see this post might reach out to their local artists...and support them in their endeavors.
