A sneak peak at the adverts Im going to use for my website. They were shot with a long exposure in a completely dark room. The cast shadows hitting the orange canvas were created by lighting the subject with an old ipod. I only used photoshop to add the scars to the little wooden guys arms (they are actually a few of my real scars). This is my favourite type of photography because it really gets the old creative juices flowing. I may change the wording on some of them. I love a good play on words. The website is close to completion. If any of you guys and gals can do me a huge favour I would like you to stick one of these ads on your wall when the site is finished (about a week from now). You are all welcome to draw and post pieces of artwork that relate somehow to mental illness. (Many people are affected by family or friends mental health problems). BE WARNED The site is for over 18s and WILL have images that may cause triggering to the vunerable. If this is the case, please see the support links (the Samaritans etc) and do not view the members gallery. Another rule is: NO PHOTOGRAPHS. The site is called Draw Blood and the clue is in the name. I dont want people photographing and comparing self harm behaviour; the site is not pro self harm. Neither is it a support site. It exists to showcase art created by people with mental health problems and to express thoughts and feelings related to mental health. I will post some smaller ads when the site is ready. Thanks in advance if you decide to post an addy or/and contribute to the sites gallery or say hi in the chat room. It is always hard to build an online community, especially in the summer where people are outside more. I wont be on FB as much as I have been once the site goes live. My attention will be on moderating the forum and chatroom plus Im reckoning with a 9 hour a day, 6 days a week routine studying fine art and illustration. Thank you all guys for keeping me inspired and giving me the motivation to go ahead with this. xxx
