A somewhat busy day with regards to thunderstorms across Southern Manitoba. Strong storms fired up in SE Saskatchewan earlier this afternoon and are now pushing into SW Manitoba. Environment Canada has issued severe thunderstorm watches to cover these storms and there have been a few warnings with some of the storms. The main threat with the storms moving in from Saskatchewan is moderate to severe hail. Further east, a few small storms are beginning to fire in the Red River Valley. They shouldnt pose much severe threat thanks to meager mid-level instability and almost excessive bulk shear. They will likely manage to put out some lightning, a decent downpour and perhaps some small hail. Even -further- east, storms are also developing through much of the Whiteshell, all the way from Berens River southwards through the Whiteshell proper and southwards through the Sprague region. These storms will pose a threat of severe weather - mainly hail - but will likely remain sub-severe on the Manitoba side of the border. Well be keeping an eye on things and post updates as needed through the evening.
