A statement regarding Ari Roth & Theater J. I know I found my calling in the arts because of a desire to connect people and communities and to spark dialogue and exchange, many things Ive admired about Ari Roths own work and vision. Artists certainly dont go into the arts to live an easy life, and we dont generally have a clear quantitative measure of how successful our work is, because the outcomes are often so much more nuanced and subtle than a bottom line in terms of the effect of art on our audiences and their lives. That being said, look no further than the outpouring of support for Ari Roth in terms of the impact this theatre leader has had on our community, from artist to audience. And look at it as a sign of things to come, whatever his next step is. I, for one, will absolutely be there in any capacity I possibly can be. #dcarts #dctheatre
