A study by credit rating agency Moody’s Investors Service suggests that Brazil will get a “short-lived” benefit from hosting the World Cup this summer. The report estimates that the tournament will generate a “BRL 25.2 billion ($11.1billion) economic boost [that] pales before Brazil’s $2.2 trillion economy,” which equates to about 0.4% of the Gross Domestic Product (GDP).
