A study report from London says that in poor countries the number of girls who are compelled to enter wedlock before the age of 18 years will get doubled in next 2 decades. Most of them will face the risk of AIDS. According to the report, the victims (the child brides) get no proper education after marriage and due to improper growth and malnutrition many of them die at the time of delivering their first child! According to an estimate, every year around 3500 girls around the world are forced to marry before they complete their 15th birthday. Likewise, every year 21000 girls are forced to marry before the age of 18. This is a worldwide scenario but the ‘bulk’ of this falls in India because of its 2nd largest population in the world!
