A suggestion sent in by Gus - what are the pros and cons of such a proposal? Could what is being described an aspect of direct democracy? Please post your reflections. We propose, creating the first of many government charities. All these charities will be managed by nongovernmental control. This first step will create an organization with the ability to do oversight over governmental finances, by nongovernmental watchdogs. Second is to create a new charity classification, which will receive tax reduction statues. Since this charity is funding a governmental function, we are mandating that donors do not just receive a tax deduction, but instead a tax reduction status. By giving the donors a tax reduction, donors will no longer be doing a self-impose tax, by giving to this charity, but instead will be just using a portion of their current tax bill to a specific governmental function. This action is the revolutionary aspect of this movement, because now donors will be able to allocate a portion of their current tax bill to a particular portion of government expenditure. Why is this so important, because the current tax revenue is mailed in by tax payers, with no control by the tax payers on how the money is to be spent? It is currently just left to the discretion of our elected representatives on how to spend our taxes, but only if and when they agree to pass a bill. Though this is the first governmental charity proposed, it is just the beginning of a number of charities aimed to direct tax dollars in the direction willed by the fourth branch of government. The tax payers are the fourth branch of government and the most powerful of all branches, because without the funding that their taxes provide, the government would seize to fund its self. It’s time that we realize, that we have always had the power of the purse. Finally we discover that we have a way to speak our will. It was never been far out of our reach, all we needed, was the way to say where we want our tax dollars spent. The founding farther conceived of this notion when they wrote, the first words of the constitution, “We the People, For the People, By the People. Once the people retain the vision of the founding fathers of a democracy, the failures of this representative governmental structure, will be behind us and we will be set free to move forward. https://facebook/pages/Deficit-Reduction-Project/217871614937591/ DA
