A suspected intruder has been fatally shot by a homeowner in southwest Detroit, according to police. Police say the homeowner heard someone in his backyard around 7:15 a.m. Monday and discovered someone was choking his full breed bulldog. :o The suspect made eye contact with the homeowner and began to move towards him. Thats when police say the homeowner fired a shot out a window, killing the suspect. The home is on the 8400 of Whitaker Street, which is near the intersection of Vernor Highway and Dix Avenue.
